Well, WSC ain't Nascar. :-) I've looked up Aussie V8 on the web and the
tracks look more interesting than Nascar for sure, but the cars don't.
Sort of freaky like that Aussie Rules football they play?

"Aguirre"> Well, WSC ain't Nascar. :-) I've looked up Aussie V8 on the web
and the
Aussie V8's seem very much like American Trans Am without all the extra
Aero aids the Trans Am cars have. The Aussie's have a front splitter and
rear wing, but most Trans Am cars have a narrow greenhouse for some
downforce off the rear shoulders of the car. The next closest would be the
German Touring cars, which 'sound' like they have more horsepower, and
downforce, but the tracks are often big boring F1 tracks so you don't get
much of a sense of speed.
Personally I'm finding that the nature of the track often contributes to
my like or dislike of an event. Probably from watching several years of
BTCC and ASTCC. The smaller, bumpier the track the more character it has.
I like to see cars moving and bouncing and reacting to the road surface.
Of course these qualities make those kind of tracks totally unsuitable for
F1.

Maybe you should come up to Canada and pay a visit to Mosport in August for
the American Lemans series. Or you could try Cascar.

Shame, too. I remember when they used to bump and grind all the time.
Personally, i think that's why Ol' Ironhead got as much flak as he did in
recent times...a lot of the "new" fans never saw the way it used to be and
he was one of the few remaining drivers of the era. That's also a time when
WC racing was exciting, every race too, not just a select few. That's also
why i started watching the Busch races. Then it gained popularity and became
as bland as WC.
The truck races are great, but they're starting to go down the WC
road...reshaping the factory bodies to help aero. Have any of you seen the
body for the Dodges in the truck series? It's horrible...barely resembles
the factory body. It's bad enough these things have nothing linking them to
actual stock cars anymore, but now they***with the bodies.
