I just ran races at Detroit and Road America in GPL. Until Papyrus or
somebody puts out a decent CART sim, get GPL, the Noonan Converter, and
ICR2. With a little tinkering, you can have a great new set of road courses
to add to your collection.

You need a healthy CART series.  Get rid of Toronto, Elkhart Lake, Vancouver,
cancel the Rio race if it's on the road course, Portland (although I'm kinda of
mixed minds about that one) and Detroit.  Houston hasn't developed enough
character to offer it to the headsman's axe so we'll have to see how it fares.

If you're going to let Nazareth fall off the schedule, replace it with Pocono.
You'll get the similar market, but a more race-friendly surface.  Oh, and a
bigger grandstand.

If you feel the need to add another (damn) roadie to the circuit, may I suggest
Watkins Glen.  In it's Winston Cup configuration it would probably give a good
show to the Champ cars.

Come to think of it, Surfer's Paradise either needs to be re-configured or
given the pink slip.  It's way to narrow (the reason I gave both races north of
the border their pink slips) to promote passing.

No way in hell I'd consider giving  Laguna Seca the axe.  After the (in)famous
banzai pass pulled by Alex Zanardi back a few years ago it will make the cut.
Too bad they promptly changed the rules (although that was heads up driving by
both Zanardi and Bryan Herta), the modern penalty for imagination.

While you may feel the need for a CART sim, the simple truth is CART is losing
it's popularity (what it had).  The poor selection of venues has lead to a
domination of road racing specialists in what is becoming an increasingly road
racing series.  Were it not for the incompetence of USAC having run the IRL I
would have defected to the IRL a long time ago.  That said, Papyrus learned a
long time ago that CART may be their first love, but it won't sell enough to
pay the rent.
