I was trying to choose between Logitech, Thrustmaster, Microsoft and Act
Labs.
Any others I should consider ?

Generally speaking the Logitech is considered the best to use i.c.w. GPL.

I use an Immersion I-Force Steering Wheel (Ultimate Per4mer Wheel)
and pedals, it cost a load, but doesn't slow the machine down as it goes
through the Com port rather than the Joystick Port..

Wired with the CH pedals (I have homemade pedals).
This is not an out of the box solution but is the 'best' FF setup you can't
buy.
