=========================================================================== I received my wheel on 11/14/00. Ordered it from www.gamestop.com
for $59.99. The only driving sim I have is NASCAR 3, so I can't testify
for another sims. Setup was very easy. Since it's USB you
can "Hotplug". Windows will pick it up and start the setup process. DO
NOT USE the software drivers from the CD if your running Windows ME.
They are for Windows 98/98SE and 2000 ONLY. Go to www.thrustmaster.com
and download the new drivers version 2.19. They included support for
Windows ME. After the drivers are installed you have another taskbar
utility, plus a shortcut on the start/programs. Since I only have
NASCAR 3, the rest of the post regards it. I have found better results
or control if you use the following. Select manual, then select NASCAR
3. I didn't use the 3 axis. Once there you see what I mean. Then I used
browse to navigate to the Papyrus/NASCAR 3 folder and selected the
NASCAR 3 exe. Then select open and it'll take you to the Thrustmapper
utility. There, you can steer left, right, use pedals, buttons, etc. I
kept the pedals on combined. Go to the next tab and do the same thing.
This is just testing your wheel. Now try running NASCAR 3. Calibrate
your wheel, start a race and see how you like it. Now, you can select
automatic in the Thrustmapper Utility if you want. You can also load
presets using the utility. I tried about every way and found the above
the best for control. When racing at Dega if I used any other way, the
car would pull a little to the left and then drift up a bit. When using
the above process the car would stay right on the line and go wherever
I wanted it to. Others might have better results using the automatic or
loading the presets, but I didn't. Just play with it and see what works
best for your driving sim. Would I recommend the wheel, YES. I would
have probably purchased a Thomas Super Wheel, but checked and I can't
see paying over $220 for one. Anyway, some may like it and some may
not. I personally like it so far. We'll see how it holds up though. Oh,
here's some advice. The pedals do slide around, even on carpet. I found
an old piece on plywood and mounted the pedals to it. Place the pedals
on the plywood and put 2 screws in front, one on each side and 4 behind
it. Well, you get the idea. See ya on the track as K Winstead. Kent :)
Maybe I'm missing something here Dwayne, but it seems you never did get the
pedals set up for split axis. If I'm wrong, please explain. I could not
find a way to make it happen either :(
Hope you get yours to work.

IIRC, that's exactly what I tried to do but when I got into N3 to calibrate,
the "third" axis where the gas should be was grayed out and not available
for calibration.
