After i upgrade to 8.0a dxdiag says 8.0
Is that correct?

No, DON'T get 8.1.  The only vers. currently avail. are late betas or, at
best, RC1 (release candidate 1).  Most have BIG problems; all have
expiration dates, like milk, after which you're REALLY screwed.  Plus, of
course, you can't UNINSTALL DirectX builds, only update them (there IS a
util that claims it can, but for me it only made an intolerable situation
WORSE).  You've been WARNED!

yes, and there's always that smartass who thinks he knows everything and who
didn't watch the posts from about 2 weeks ago discussing EXACTLY the same
point....with the same conclusion, for your info go and see on the microsft
direct x newsgroup you'll see that there is a NON LIMITED 8.1 version...
