Well I finally got it to work after deleting gp2.state file, but now when I
change the numbers, all the car numbers are changed right, but michael
schumacher's number of #1 does not appear, it says 0, and I have tried over
and over again and I can't get the number #1 to come up anywhere, am I
doing something wrong?

Well, you simply can't do that.

You're not doing anything wrong. I noticed this too, and I think the
game is set up to require a #0 driver. So when you enter a #1 for a
driver number, the game changes it to the required default #0.

Nope, it seems the program will not let you substitute a #1 for the #0
driver.  Guess that's just the way it goes.

Yep, mine does that too.  Actually, it said 0 with the 1994 names too.
So i dunno, i guess the game just uses 0 as the #1 driver.

That's OK to me, but I have worse problems...
I've changed the car designs and the drivers' names and all the
numbers, but when my brother loaded a saved championship it all
switched back to the previous state, and now I cannot change it even
loading the drivers' and the team names. I don't want to do all that
work again from the beginning... also, many files are no longer the
original ones and so I should re-install the game!
What can I do?
