Just picked up GP2 US. It seems that the quick race distance is locked
at 3 laps. I can't find anything in setup or manual to fix it, am I
missing somthing this can't be right.

Try page 35, second column, near top "Quick Race Options" in the US manual.

I read that part of the manual and just went back and re-read it.  It
doesn't say anything about being able to change the "distance" or length
of a quick race.
