Wow!  You guys are generous.  I guess I'm just too much of a miser and only
chipped in $10 USD.   I figured an addon for a $19.99 game that I had to
download with no box/manual that that would be fair.

I think they should have added a link or notice to the menu screen in the
game.  I'll bet most people never really thought about donating but if they
were reminded they would be more than happy to donate a fair amount.

Does that include the downloads that crashed halfway through...?

<I guess I'm just too much of a miser and only...>

Hence your last name. :-)
Don't sweat it Tim. I'm sure any amount donated is greatly appreciated by
Ian and the gang.

I have a terrible memory. In fact my memory's so bad I can't remember how
long it's been since I've forgotten anything.

If someone came up with a good AussieV8 mod, I think all of RAS will
collectively FORCE you to contribute. :-P

Crashed downloads cause traffic too... dunno if they have counted them
in the total amount of downloads though.

If I could get the mod to work as well as the game does, I would gladly
donate. But as I get very poor frame rates etc. I see no need to play it let
alone donate.

Well, the original post only called for those enjoying the mod to
contribute. It would appear you're not enjoying it, so...

The mod doesn't appear to perform differently to F1 2k2 on my machine, so
perhaps you're suffering from a configuration problem. There are RAS
regulars who appear to know F1 2k2 and the mod inside out. Couldn't hurt to
post a summary of the problem and you specs, I'd say.

I think most people get very similar framerates in the mod as the
original game.  Probably the biggest drawback are the extra cars.  The full
field with GTR is 36 or 37 cars.  That's a-lot of extra strain on your cpu
and vidsystem.  Try cutting back the ammount of CPU driven cars to 21, which
would equal the F1 field and then try it again.
  Good luck.
