Direct3D is a generic API that many cards (including the Rendition and
3Dfx cards)support.  Currently the 3Dfx cards are faster than the
original V1000 cards (Intergraph Intense3D, Sierra Screamin3D, etc.),
but the new V2x00 cards (like Diamond StealthII) more then double the
V1000 speeds.
