I agree with some <but not all>.  SPA on F1RS is AWESOME.
Also, I really like Road America...Its all a matter of personal
opinion though. :)

Watkins Glen on N2 would certainly make my list. Fun Fun Fun

Wow excellent list !!

I can add my personal choice ;-)

1.  Michigan - Icr2   (Many of us are with you about it, can't wait for Icr3
with Fontana also)

2. Indianapolis - Icr2 (Agree that it's just soo great, even with some
little older graphics it's a great track)

3.  Hickory - N2 (You need to be on the NROS to understand racing 24people
on a 0.3 mile track !!)

4. Nurburgring - GPL (Should be #1, but I have not enough experience on it
oops).

5. Zandwort - GPL (You will see when you will buy it, incredible just
"***ic" Roller-coaster)

6.  Monaco - Gp2 (Even if the F1RS version is better, I like this one
better, especially on the last portion of it, after the tunnel !!)

7. Darlington - N1 (Bizarre choice but personal, it's a great track even if
the 2 racing groove isn't like real life)

8. Mosport - CPR (Best unofficial track I ever saw in any simulator, just
great !).

9. Nurburgring - F1RS (Boring track on TV, incredible behind a wheel !!)

10. Australia - Icr2 (Another personal choice, but I like those
power-sliding 90degrees turns, just soo fun to control)

Well, we have 4out of 10 that are the same, but I agree all the others are
great tracks as you mentioned !

- Fran?ois Mnard <ymenard> Good race at the Brickyard!
- Official Mentally retarded guy of r.a.s.
- Excuse me for my English (I'm French speaking)

I've spent a long time racing these open wheel sims and thought i would
compile my top
ten tracks rather than compare these sims head to head.
This is my opinion and if you agree/disaagree please feel free to add
your opinions......

I run P2 266 CeleRon o/clocked to 448mhz  Voodoo1  +  Diamond Stealth
2100 Rendition

1.   Michigan                  -  ICR2

This is the only track where i actually get chills up and down my
spine.
White knuckled  wheel to wheel racing that sorts out the drivers
from
     the  rest.

2.   San Marino [1994ver]      -  GP2

Magic track in a fab location.

3.   Barcelona  [1994ver]               -  GP2

This is a beatifully balanced track that is a delight to drive.

4.   Spa                       - GP2

Man sized track with a bus stop.

5.   Monaco                   - GP2

Not really a drivers track, but what a location !

6.   Nurburgring               - F1RS

Easily the best track in F1RS !

7.   Indianapolis             -  ICR2 [ conversion ]

This would rate higher if the graphics were little better on my
conversion.

8.   Laguna Seca             -   ICR2

     Classic little track.

9.   Monza                   -  GP2

Might  be a little easy to drive after a while but the atmosphere is
there !

10.  Road America           - ICR2

This is a mixture of Spa and Monza in  a classic American setting !

I like Sears Point better.  The N1 WG was challenging, but the N2
version is too easy.  Despise Talladega and Martinsville.  Like
Bristol and North Wilkes, though nobody wants to include it in a
season anymore...

For GP2, I like Suzuka and Spa, hate Monaco and Australia.

I didn't like ANYTHING for ICR2 -- ICR1 was at least playable.  But at
least it's useful as a conversion object  for touring cars.

Suzuka has some fun sections.  I like the part where you go up the hill
over those high speed corners, I forget what the section is called! :)
Spa and Monza are fun as well.  As far as N2 goes I really like
Darlington (it's great when you get turns 3 and 4 right!).  Bristol and
Hickory are fun (especially starting from the back!).

Adding my own faves...

1) Spa (GPL)
What can I say, tracks don't come any more awesome than this. While
Eau Rouge massively dominates the present day circuit, it was simply
one aspect of a sensory overload on the original. From the delicate
fight that is Burnenville, through the flicks of Malmedy and on to the
nervous coaxing through the scarifying Masta Kink, this is an utterly
awesome lap. Even the corners that are taken flat are _just_ flat.

2) Kyalami (GPL)
Another fave, Kyalami has a nice blend of on/off camber, fast/slow,
up/down and long straights. Flows nicely, is technical enough to be
challenging, and yet with wide enough straights and corners to give
ample opportunity for side-by-side racing and outbraking.

3) Sears Point (ICR2 conversion)
This track never really felt right in a lumbering NASCAR, but is
incredible in an Indycar.

4) Suzuka (GP2)
The only decent version of one of my favourite of present day tracks.
Far from a definitive creation, but still enormously enjoyable. A
track with everything.

5) Bristol (NASCAR2)
Simple to learn, challenging to master. Avoiding other drivers,
preserving your tyres, even turning a fast lap are difficult around
here, with multiple lines on such a small track. My favourite track
for the stock cars.

6) Monza (F1RS)
I adore the speed and spectacle of this track, and although the
version in GPL is better, F1RS was the first to capture the look and
feel. Many enjoyable laps done around here in F1RS.

7) Rouen (GPL)
Ooowee what a track! Online racing will be mad on this baby, with the
incredibly challenging section made famous by Fangio, flowing down the
hill to the Nouveau Monde hairpin. Very fast, and very tight, this
track is a challenging and rewarding chase through the French
countryside.

8) Nurburgring (GPL)
Speaks for itself really. Too long to be really enjoyable for me, the
concentration required for a good lap is intense. Nonetheless, one lap
around the Nordschleife contains everything, so there is undoubtedly
something for everyone. It feels very like a point-to-point chase
across through the countryside in your own car which is always fun,
and the scenery is gorgeous. I dount we'll ever see the 'Ring in
another sim, so it's a delight that this version does it justice. It's
inclusion is justified just by taking the project on.

9) Hickory (NASCAR2)
You've gotta love it. Like being rolled in cat food and thrown into a
sack with 40 wildcats :-)

10) Elkhart Lake (ICR2)
The Ardennes forest picked up and moved Stateside. Speed, hills,
corners, dips, excellent.

Cheers!
John

If your a GP2 fan you should check out the '98 Trackpack by Matti (on
GP2.COM). Some of the updated tracks aren't much fun (eg. San Marino),
but the Melbourne Park Circuit is great fun to drive on - you can really
hammer it over the curbs which was always missing in the bonna-fide GP2
circuits. Even Hockenheim is a bit better!

It might just be me, but the cars always felt like they were on ice to
me no matter what I did with setups.  It finally got so frustrating
that I just took the game off the HD.

I had similar experience, but I just tried it again.  I think it was watching
the real mid-Ohio race that got me going.  Anyway, I find I'm surprisingly a
lot more competitve and competent (relative to my previous) on the road
courses.  I've won races against 94% competitors at MO and Toronto.  Far
better than my rememberance of my last attempts on the non-ovals.  Maybe it's
the faster CPU, maybe more willingness to increase front wing and reduce front
swaybar for less understeer.  Maybe I'm just getting better ... nah...

  Agreed. Especially the N1 watkins!

Agreed again. I also liked Canada. Hated the first corner at Australia.

ICR2 not playable??????? In what way?
