Am I the only one trying to use Bethesda's Xcar sim?
I waited forever for it to be released, paid good money for it, and the
damn thing won't work!
Numerous e-mails to them have been ignored.
Maybe the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) should look into this company.

i was successful in getting the game to work but i was not really impressed
with it. it seemed like on some of the courses the road was bumpy. i don't
know if thats to simulate bumps on the road but it was hard to get to high
speeds. some of the courses were ok but i'd rather play n2 and gp2. maybe
i'll try it again someday. what problems are you having? you can email me if
you want, maybe i can help.

I did finally get a reply from Bethesda, maybe after blasting them via this
newsgroup they felt the need to get their "stuff" together. They suggested
deleting all orig install and reinstalling, then trying to run without sound. I
did so sucessfully, then added sound via setup and it works great. I've been
playing the demo for about a year or so and really like it. Like F1RS it takes a
little gettin' used to, it's bumpy, but having driven a few real race cars (back
when I was a little younger, and immortal) they ARE bumpy! Spending all my time
lately on n2, driving the new Atl track, goin' to the real race this weekend and
so forth. I'll report back when I get to run xcar more.
