Sure, I'm real insecure.  Hey, when I have a bad day I don't take ***of
of anyone and a lot of the time I don't even need to use the "Bad Day"
excuse..  Threatened, hell the last time I felt threatened someone was
trying to eliminate my ass, sometimes  I just have a bad habit of not taking
***of any kind.  Anyway, bad manners from some cutie shouldn't be
tolerated by anyone, anytime.  Enough of this crap- OUT. Paul    P.S.
rrevved's sound pack is great, good job.

I didn't get it either.  The post he objected to, while not the friendliest,
didn't insult him AT ALL, then he starts off on this cursing and ***
organ bit and insulting everyone who replied to it.  Making a mountain out
of a molehill.  Hey, I don't get into spelling nitpickers myself, BUT, I
have much less tolerance for a lot of uncalled for insults.  You start
insulting people, I figure hey you're fair game.  My original response to
all this was just to point out that by acting this way, you make yourself
look bad - not to start some flame war.  Poke some fun, yep - that too.  To
take someone correcting your spelling that seriously begged for some
ribbing.

Now we have some other guy talking about how he'd kick people's asses if
they weren't "hiding behind their keyboard" (exactly what he's doing) and
going through the *** organ and cursing bit himself in this guy's
defense.  What's next, "My dad can beat your dad"?

Hey folks, get over it.  I can quickly read over what I write and make sure
it makes sense and is mostly spelled correctly, it's called good
communication.  All we have to go on about who you are and where you're
coming from is what we read here.  Pretty easy to make a good impression.
Bad writing, curse words, threats and general vulgarity tend to reflect bad
upon you, and someone pointing this out to you is probably doing you a
favor.  If someone starts the "d00d you suck!!" stuff, ok flame away - but
to start calling everyone an *** and talk about kicking people's ass
over a spelling correction is asinine.  You make a bad enough impression,
you get in a lot of killfilters or people just don't listen to what you have
to say, and a newsgroup where no one sees your posts isn't doing you nearly
as much good as it could.

And another thing.....humor, don't leave home without it.

Right now we just have ***s on the internet who start swearing and
cussing because someone wanted to correct a few misspelled words.
Boy correcting misspelling is sure a bad thing.

Don't you really mean "we can't reach through the internet and TRY TO
give him the solid ass kicking he deserves"? After all, you fellas could be
5'3" or something :-)

Here was how you simply corrected a few misspelled words:

<<"Hey dork it is 'masten' not 'matsen'. But then again I don't suppose that
would be in your spell checker :-)">>

Is this your thoughtful and courteous method of correcting a few misspelled
words?   Let me try to be as thoughtful and offer my English lesson.  "Swearing
and cussing" is redundant, pick one and work with it.  Do you say: "The water
was wet and moist?"  How about: "The movie was lengthy and also quite long!"  So
what the hell is "swearing and cussing?"   Now, do you feel enlightened after
I've added this basic element of proper English to your arsenal or do you think,
"what an ***, this guy is obviously trying to ridicule me and actually
thinks he's superior."  Well, I know what I would think.  I certainly wouldn't
appreciate such hostile criticism from a stranger who needs to stroke his own
ego on the net.

I'm not saying this thread is your fault but don't dump this  "Boy I can't even
help my fellow man with a little English lesson" self-serving heap of shit on
me.  You took a shot at a guy because he was an easy target after making several
spelling and grammatical errors in a few post.  It's easy to jump on the band
wagon and make fun of Paul.  How about being a nice guy and tipping the damn
band wagon over?

Oh, by the way, I'm 3' 9" but I pack a mean nut cracker if you know what I mean
;-).  Seriously Greg, this is not just you but is it so hard to treat people
with respect on the net?  Do you hear someone misspeak at the checkout of your
local supermarket and try to make them feel like a jack ass?  It just seems too
many people are ready to pounce on the smallest mistake and ridicule someone for
no reason.  What's the point?

Joe Marque

SCGT: RREVVED's Soundpack now available

Since I think you misinterpreted my post I must respond.  People should be
treated with respect.  This should be the default method of communicating
with a stranger who has not done anything to initiate hostility.  In the
real world this what I witness regularly.   On the internet this respect is,
at times, woefully absent.  One theory is that it's easy for ALL OF US to be
brave from the safety of our keyboard.  I don't hide behind my keyboard in
the sense that I don't take pot shots at innocent people like a little
weasel waiting for a chance to pounce.  I take issue with what I view as
unnecessary hostility and I must respond to it.  By the way, if any of us
met Paul at a party and he was 6' 6" 240 lb.. would we say "Hey ***boy,
nice English sentence!"  Assuming you were smaller, I'm sure your answer
would be no.   Unless, of course, you had a high powered rifle with you.
Hey if you're 6' 8" 270 lb.. and live near me then you win, I'm wrong and
sorry I wasted your time sir! ;-)  Seriously, there are so many annoying
internet heroes, fearless in their ***.  While I am no testosterone
tough guy I am also not a weasel who preys on strangers so I can feel
superior by demonstrating my visual acuity and intellectual prowess through
my amazing gift for noticing the ever so slight spelling error.  I do notice
the shitty spelling and poor communication skills on the net and in the
world.  I would certainly like to improve this mess, however, I will do so
constructively not destructively.  I just don't like to arrogantly ridicule
anyone.  I was fortunate enough to have a quality education (I also paid
mucho dinero for it so I'm not on the soap box feeling guilty).  However, I
never pick on the easy target.  I'd rather joust with a juggernaut than
pummel a putz (I really overuse alliteration, what a schmuck!).  I find
pointing out spelling errors inherently pompous.  This is my perception.  I
fail to see any helpful intent.  It seems more like: "Excuse me, dumb ass,
could you please learn how to spell."  I believe confident and mature men do
not need to pointlessly prey on innocent posters to prove their virility.
Please understand, however, that my ass kicking comment was intended to be
general (i.e.,  A weasel can sure use that friendly reminder that an ass
kicking hurts).  It was written more for effect than my actual belief.   I
certainly was not directly threatening anyone, if my post appeared that way
I apologize.  As for cursing, it's always the same bullshit comment (more so
by others than you), "Doh! If you curse you lose because only losers curse!"
(should be read using Homer Simpson's voice).   Yeah, I get it, you make up
the rules and I lose if I break them,  that makes sense.  Finally,
I admit I'm not that tough.  The last fight I had I suffered a broken nose,
a dislocated shoulder and I lost 2 teeth.  Hey, my wife can get a little
*** when I don't take out the trash.  BTW, I think you agree, isn't a
little friendly "attempt" at humor better than wise ass remarks?

Hi all,

I Dld the above soundpack and indeed the sounds are nice, but in a way
that is worse ! ;-)  The problem I have is I am unable to hear my own
engine when there a re cars around, which makes shifting a pain. Rreved
sounds are louder so that is even more confusing. Yet I like them. What
am I to do ? Is there a way to "quiet" other cars or make you car
louder ? Anybody ?

Greg.
