And where is this analogue controller?

Not that I don't think a driving sim can't be controlled by the d-pad,
'cause I'm sure all buttons will be pressure sensetive, so it's *sort of*
analogue.

If you've got enough brains to cluster playstations, why not just buy some
normal processing chips and do it the easy way???

It's cheaper to use Playstations?

Playstation, being "just a toy", might not attract the attention of
customs agents?

Not once you buy the equipment to make them act as computers.

You think you can't buy PC's everywhere in the world?

It's a bit hard to come up with a full PC that's as powerful as the PS2
for less than $150.

Yes, actually, there are rather strict export laws regarding the sale of
computer equipment to certain countries - especially those located in the
mid-east and to China.

One company I used to work for ran afoul of these when it tried to sell
its product - based on a 150Mhz MIPS processor - into Mongolia.  They were
eventually allowed to fulfil the order, but it took dozens of forms and a
few months of government beuracracy.  The main problem was that the
product was a Linux-based web server that was capable of using
encryption methods that used more than 32bits.  (SSL uses 64 or 128 bits.)

This was back in '98.  A bit later, the PS2 was announced, and also
classified by the US Gov't as falling into the same category computer
technology not allowed to be exported to "hostile" countries.

Thats only because the government fell for the Sony marketing hype as
much as the consumers. Try bringing your arguments into the 21st
century and learn that China do actually have PC's.

I never said China doesn't have PCs.  I only said that certain equipment
and software is still restricted from being exported in China and other
countries.
