Bizarre Geforce FX Video Problems

My GeForce2 GTS finally blew up and got replaced
with a GeForce FX 5200.  For the most part, the FX
is fine.

Except when I want to take a spin in Rally Trophy
or Total Immersion Racing.  Rally Trophy's
roadway, trees and spectators appear to be
hundreds of feet above the landscape.  Drive off
the road and you're flying!

TIR yields a black sky with what appear to be
lightning flashes.

Any thoughts?

I'd say it's a video driver problem.

And you would be right.  Downloaded the latest and
the problems went away.  Silly me for thinking
that a video card would ship with anything
resembling current drivers.  :P

Based on the HUGE time differences between hardware supply chains/channels
and immediate software updates via the web, how could you realisitically
expect a video card to ship with current drivers?

I'm sorry that's not good enough. Like Biz, I just can't fathom how you
could possibly make such a huge slip up in thinking and logic. The mind just
boggles and I've convulsed *** in the fetal position now for 40 minutes
pondering this topic.
