Jens,

Too late.  I've been there, too.  I had no problems with anyone.  The Germans
certainly aren't as outgoing or friendly to strangers as the Aussies and Kiwis,
but who is?  I remember having a nice conversation with some folks in the Hofbrau
Haus in Munich while trying to use my three years of high school German (about
fif*** years after the fact).

Hi Ronald,
Have some experience myself.
I'm german and lived in South-East Asia since 3 years :-)
The people's behaviour was quite a shock for me coming back to Germany for a
short trip 2 years ago.
