If your running version 1.03, you both need to have your car
(J_Janaso.car, A_Friend.car) at the top of your MULTI.lst files.  Then
send your files to each other (before hand), place them into your CARS
directory.  And the game will take care of the rest.  If your not
running 1.03 it gets more complicated.  If your running an older
version, I suggext you upgrade.  If you don't want to for what ever
reason, email me and I'll tell you how to do it.

If you have the latest patch (V1.02 or V1.03):

Make sure each player's car has a unique filename (the default player car
is T_PLAYER.CAR). Make sure each player's name is on his car in both
carsets. Now, take the original MULTI.LST file, and delete the first two
entries. Add the player's car who will be on the computer that answers and
use the "<" ">" keys to move the car to the top of the list. Add the second
player's car and use the keys to move it to the 2nd spot on the list. This
must be done on both machines. Now you're ready to go...

If you have the older version (V1.00 or V1.01):

On the computer that answers, the player's car should be first on the list
and have his name on it, and the dialup player's car should be second on
the list and have his name on it. On the computer that dials, the answering
player's car should also be first on the list, but should have the name of
the dialup player on it. It sounds foolish, but that's the trick. The
second car should be the dialup player's car, but have the name answering
player on it (actually, I don't think the name on the second car matters in
either case.)

Obviously, the latest patch has improved things a lot, particularly for IPX
play (thanks, Charlie!)
