Problems with 4MB and icr104.exe

by Mike McCu » Wed, 11 May 1994 16:05:14

Since I updated from version 1 to 1.04 I no longer can get grass and road
textures to turn on.  Has anyone else had this same problem. I have
manual detail on.  I have tried pushing the keys while driving to turn
the textures on but it does'nt seem to work.  I tried setting the
auto-detail to the minimum frame rate but still no luck.

Any help would be nice!

--- After version 1.00 (that's 1.02 --> current 1.04) you will need 8 Meg
of RAM to get the textures, no matter how large a car field you use, or
how much other detail you turn off.  This is a "machine speed enhancement"
for the low-end machines to be able to enjoy larger field and more other
details etc. without as much slow down.   I think all this should be
mentioned in the README files somewhere with the patch.  If not with 1.04
then it was on 1.02.. maybe you should pick up that patch just to read the
README file, and note some of the changes?

Anyway, this is the reason.... happy racing.
