What's going on?  How come this game looks to have about 10 times the
polygon count of anything else i've ever seen.

There's 4 new shots at http://www.racesimcentral.net/
and they look just stunning.

This game looks to be leaps and bounds beyond anything that's been released
to date.  If it plays anywhere near as good as it looks, they have a winner.
Check out this quote too...

"We are currently working towards a playable demo along the lines off a one
car one track test bed, so we can get some feedback on everything. "

Game on =)

Wow...incredible.

Superb.

Figure I'm going to have to reconsider my next cpu upgrade
(again.!!)and double it.

Can't think of anything more to say.

Except...where's Doc Brown and his DeLorean when you need him
most.

Time sure does move slow.

Ian.

I wonder if like Nascar 4 it will use Hardware T&L to acheive such high
polygon counts?  That's the only thing I can think of that'll make a game
which looks that good run fast enough.

he was wondering about WSC... though it's awesome that N4 will use T&L.

There was some discussion about the detail factor on the High Gear forums,
and it was mentioned that the West bros. did coding way back when
programmers HAD to get every last ounce out of the systems they were
developing for.  Maybe they arent lazy like most programmers today :-)

If he'd used some punctuation it may have made it slightly clearer for
Francois and any others tfor whom English is not their first
language............

I see what you mean, every other post here is grammatically perfect.

I think those days are gone now.  I would be nice to think some programmers
could just write code five times faster than anyone elses, but since they
are relying on D3D or Glide with a 3D card to draw the triangles, there's
not really much that can be done to speed things up in that particular area.
Actually, I know they are using Glide (along with D3D of course), and glide
doesn't support hardware T&L at all.  Maybe the whole game has just got tons
of graphical options, so when it looks like it does in those screenshots, it
runs at 5 fps.  Turn off all the detail and it runs at 30-40fps.  Sort of
aimed at PC's eigh*** months down the line.

Enough Bruce.  I'm a little tired of you constantly showing the fact that we
don't speak, write or talk English more than our principal language.  I
KNOW, ok?  I just read it at an incredibly fast speed, be sure that I KNOW
my English and have no problem balancing with the difficulty of that
language.
