GPL & teamfix...HELP!

by J. P. Hovercraf » Sun, 06 Feb 2000 04:00:00

Hello all,

I'm going slightly mad here...hope someone can help before I go right
over the curb.

I'm running GPL on my main PC and I've just set up a 2nd machine w/my
old Voodoo 1 so I can race w/friends by LAN. On my main PC the
Coventry/Murasama teams are happily displaying Cooper/Honda team names
-AND- Cooper/Honda team logos. I'm trying to do the same to the 2nd
machine but...-I can't find the utility I used to do this-!!!!!

I've got about 3 or 4 copies of teamfix.exe on my HD, but none of them
has replaced the logos on the 2nd machine. (BTW, I'm running the
"English" version on the main PC and the US version on the 2nd machine.
Could this be the problem?) Could someone -PLEASE- direct me to the
location of the utility I used to relpace the team logos, or perhaps
even e-mail it to me? I'll name my firstborn after you and then I'll put
the file in an appropriately named folder such that it doesn't disappear
again.

Thanks for any help in this matter.

GPL & teamfix...HELP!

by J. P. Hovercraf » Sun, 06 Feb 2000 04:00:00

Hello again,

To continue the story, I've run the "super_tup.zip" patch on my 2nd machine
and it has changed the logos from Coventry/Murasama to Cooper/Honda, but...

It's a different pair of logos from what I've got on my main PC. The Cooper
logo from the "super" patch has a brown/bronze look while the one on my
primary machine is white. The Honda logo from the "super" patch is white
with red lettering while the logo on my machine is white with black
lettering.

On my original machine, the gpl/cars/67/murasama and coventry directories
have "murasama.org" and "coventry.org" files in them as well as the ".dat"
files and the gpl/layout folder has a "layout.org" file that is the same
size as the layout.dat file in the same folder. The layout folder on the 2nd
machine does -not- have a "layout.org" file in it.

Once again, can anyone help me find the file that produced the logos that I
have on my original machine?

Thanks again.

IIRC the logos are in the layout directory, so copying the layout.dat from
the 1st to
the 2nd machine will probably do it.

Cheers
