Crashed out on purpose?  That sounds pretty dumb to me...  I'm curious to know
who that was.  If you want to let me know who that was in private e-mail,
that's fine.
Six drivers dropped out(or crashed out) after 1 lap.  Out of those, the only
name I didn't know was Rolf Marggi(the others I know through leagues or
previous GP races).  Coincidentally(or not) he was the one who called us
"nuts"...  I was halfway glad when he exited.  Maybe that's a bad attitude, but
I thought the race would be 'safer' afterwards...
As far as passwording, I'm split on this: a smaller group of drivers,
increasing the chances of driving around by yourself, or a full field - with
the risk of a yahoo joining...

Yes, thanks guys. Now I realize that many people stayed there after
retiring and watched the race and I feel really ashamed of my driving.
I can only imagine what were private comments when I spun 3 times
in a row in Metzgesfeld and started to take it at a speed of
pedestrian afterward.

My race was kind of typical for me. I damaged engine (or it got
problem itself) and bent suspension during first 2 or 3 laps and
spent the rest of the race overcoming problems I created myself.

Congratulations to Tim for winning and my sincere thanks to Steve
Brunt for bringing back my concentration by passing me and creating
some tension in the closing stages of the race:)

Alex.

Was that YOU who called us nuts?  Nah, I don't think so...  I was referring to
Rolf...
*You*, I trust.  *Him*, I didn't.

From the records I read that you got at least one corner further than me ;-)

On my side stupid mistake which sent me too close to this magnetic hedge down to
Breitscheid. Rest is history.

Everybody who was still in the race was making mistakes like that..
it's so damn hard to concentrate after more than 10 laps on the Ring..
Thank God I only have to drive 8 laps on the Ring in my league
tonight.. piece of cake ;)

First congrats to Tim for the win, and to all who finished the race.

Same here Mark :)
I had almost a year of absence with a short come back some 3 months
ago.
I fixed the lap times by now, improved my pb a bit, but the
consistancy is still way off, especially on the Ring.

I (in Ferrari) had a great start off gridspot 2, passing Jure
completely in the clear before T1 (he was in Honda, which to me seems
to be glued to the starting grid :)). After T1 my heart was starting
to go crazy, with me thinking "oooooh shite" :)))))) But when Jure
fell back tiny bit by tiny bit, my heart settled down again :) and the
concentration really kicked in right away. I kept it at a 'somewhat
safe' pace, but after Jure went out my lead was suddenly over 30 secs,
and my concentration started to drop. That, combined with my
consistancy not being what it was yet, made me starting to make little
mistakes. I tried to regain my concentration, but that didn't work too
well, and my last mistake, in lap 7, was a bit bigger :)

Create a passworded race, with a password like "FullGP" and put this
in the comment. That way noone could claim he joined without knowing
it's a full GP...

I did 15 Saturday - Pro Race(well, 14 - I got lapped), 8 Sunday - Lites Race,
then 15 Tuesday.  I think I'm about DONE with the ring for a while...<g>

Heh, very true. If there's one advantage to running in these GPs, it's the
other distances suddenly start to seem puny in comparison.

Yep.. unless 1 or 2 morons don't know the KEEP DISTANCE rule during a
Ring race..huge pileup crash, 8 people out after 10 seconds.
Including me :(
