Confused about MOMO configuration

by smk1 » Wed, 15 Feb 2006 02:21:33

Hi,

I need some help in understanding and configuring my MOMO racing wheel
and pedal to work with Nascar 2003 by Aspyr.

In the NASCAR 2003 configuration page I'm asked to set the X axis, y
axis, and z/slider axis.

I've had this working before and enjoyed the game many times. The wheel
has been disconnected for a while, and now I can't remember how I set
it up, nothing is working.

Could someone explain what the x,y, and z axis are? Is the x-axis the
throttle? y- brake, z steering?

Once I set this, and think I got it right, I go into the game and have
to calibrate the settings. But now my throttle is moving both the
throttle and the steering. It's all messed up!

Please help! Thanks

do is one peice at a time now that you have "windows" seeng the pedals and
wheel correclty.

Now when you have NR03 running,  you will be looking at the SETTINGS screen
which shows you what axis is being translated for the game to do wha
taction.  and also a button to "calibrate".  hit that, & move the wheel,
move both pedals.  you should see 3 sliders/bargraphs move if you have
seperate pedals, and only 2 if brake and throtle are combined (as the game
sees it).  x y & z axis, can be pretty generic, but on my MS wheel, the
steering axis is x, I move the wheel all the way from left to right
stoppers.  then move each of the pedals ...  this is how you know which
"axis" is which.  click OK, which now takes you back to the SETTINGS page.
Now if the game hasnt figured it out COrrectly,  you click on steering, up
comes a box saying "move the steering wheel full left and then right"  and
you move the wheel L&R and then hit return.
then click brake, press the brakes (Dont just slam them, is a good idea on
all actions). then click THROTTLE and press the THROTTLE.  when all the
assignments say they do what you wan tthem to, then click OK.

all should be good by now.

Now then, you have basic  wheel controls all setup,  BUT!!!!

If I were you, I'd use GOOGLE and search this group via the website for
"momo settings", when google comes back with results, in there you will find
that I also re-posted, not long ago some great tips to hack or edit some
settings both just in NR03, plus settings for the MOMO in the control panel,
in windows to make it work best.

I dont have the wheel but the info is kept around because many do!
