And you are calling your brother, right? The caller always
gets the second car (or 1st opponent) and the answering cpu
gets the first car (player).
When me and my friend play we always use the same carset
where his is the first car and mine is the second. I always
call him so things work out correctly.
  Hope this helps.

Hi,

I have a problem when racing via modem.  The problem is
I am not in my car, when my brother and I start to race he is driving
my car!  Has anyone else had this problem?  I call him to connect does
this effect which car is chosen for me?  Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan

If you want to be in the correct cars during modem play you'll
need seperate car sets for calling and answering.  When you place the
call, the graphic for your car must be the third car in the car set
you're using (use paintkit - Elmo/pace car is first, then your modem
competitor's car, then your car).  When you are answering the call, your
car must be the second car in the car set (pace car, your car, then your
competitor's car).  It is only a switch of the graphics options -- both
drivers2.txt files should have the pace car first, your car second, and
your modem opponent's car third.  I keep 4 car sets: the supplied '94
car set, a real '95 car set, a CALL car set, and an ANSWER car set --
the last two have my friend's car for modem racing.

Hope this helps...

Scott
