Steering wheel without pedals

Steering wheel without pedals

Hi,

I'm very close to buying my first ever steering wheel for the PC (mainly so
I can play GPL which I've had for about 4 years but haven't been able to
play and the GT2002 mod for F12002).
I think it's going to be the BRD Pro V2, but I can't really afford any
pedals yet.
Should I wait and save up some more so that I can get both the wheel and
pedals at the same time, or is it worth buying the wheel now and getting the
pedals later?  (i.e. am I going to be able to control throttle and brakes
somehow via the buttons/levers on the wheel?)

Thanks in advance,
Dave.

hi. you will NEED analogic throttle and brakes, if you are in serious sims.
that's a fact. you could give a try to thrustmaster modena 360 - no
forcefeedback : you get pedals AND on-wheel throttle/brakes controls. hth.

Buy a Microsoft Sidewinder Precision wheel, the non FF version and just use
the pedals with your wheel.

Costs about 25 online.

I take it the pedals are optional with this setup?  Is it awkward to
manipulate (like do you need to use two fingers on each hand, one each hand
for gear up/down and one each hand for throttle brake)?

Thanks,
Dave.

I don't like the idea of buying something just to use PART of the overall
contents.  It would be such a waste to have the wheel just gathering dust.
Are the pedals quite robust?

Thanks,
Dave.
