3 -count 'm- 3 bogus black flags. For some unknown reason unable to clear
the last one despite 3 -count 'm- 3 stops. On the plus side, though, they
missed me speeding coming in on one of 'm.

Seems like taking a wide entry/late apex (this side of the painted kerb)
into T11 is strictly forbidden or the foul line is so close that a
connection glitch caused me to go over it. Stupid f'ing Papy rules
implementation ruined my effort.

I wasn't quick, but I was really enjoying my driving out there... seriously
ticked off about the whole deal.

Keep saying to yourself, "It's a GAME. It's a GAME. It's only a f&%$ing
GAME!
Then take a Valium. :)

I know what you mean. On lap 5 my motor blew while I was on the back
straight headed into the last turn. No reason whatsoever. I retired and the
game said it was for an "accident".

??

I was rear ended a lap or two earlier and nudged off  the track. Maybe the
wonky damage model decided that getting bumped from behind should eventually
cause my motor to blow up.

No... can't afford to lose the edge. <g>

The rear-end incident probably led to the transfer billet being pushed
forward just far enough to deflect the cross-beam frangelator into the area
normally occupied by the exhaust gromit.
As we know, if this happens, the exhaust gases build up, as they can't
escape at optimum velocity, and the excessive back pressure can result in
*** internal spasms in the region of your big end.
Once that happens, all is lost.

Bruce.

Jan I suspect that your problems had more to do with your connection
than anything else. I can't recall a race where your weren't blipping
in and out - the sim probably thought you were on the other side of
the pit wall.

Yeah.....I remember.
But it can't be good for the digestion, Jan. All that bottled-up anger.
If Valium is out, try Viagra - at least the high *** pressure can be put
to good use after the race.

you were definetly jumping around, had trouble on a couple of laps with cars
blinking in and out,  the 17 and 67 I think it was.  Watching my replay I
see a spot coming up the hill from the start finish line I punted a purple
car right off the track and I never even knew it was there.  Last time I saw
it was just past the start/finish and I punted it in the right hander at the
top of the hill......go figure?  I got in the way a couple of times and you
guys did a great job of getting around me.  Believe it or not that was about
the best 36 laps I have put together so far.  I have a whole year before we
have to go through that again!!  I may very well skip Watkins Glen as I am
even worse on that track.  Lots of time to practice till then though.  Had
fun today, completed my second checker flag run today so that is a big plus
:-)

I hope I didn't cause any trouble for the guys behind me.  Right as we were
going green, I lost power here due to a thunderstorm.  Didn't come back on
until 5pm(central).

Figures.......... rainy afternoon, perfect day to stay inside and race.

Yes, I figured something like that, but seeing as it's impossible to really
go from the track to pitlane and back at that point -there's a wall in
between!!- it's not that hard to figure out, even for a virtual steward,
that I must have been on the track all along. This problem has been around
since GPL, so I figured Papy'd fixed it by now. Silly me for thinking anyone
cares about someone's connection problems (other than slagging him off for
it).

Anyhow... re-installing my modem and configuring dial-up networking today
(which had somehow got messed up beyond repair in my previous install).
Let's hope that works while I wear down support into doing something about
this crap.

BTW, how did your artwork look from behind me on the grid?  <G>

Jan, can't you get Skynet's ADSL? It works very well for me.
