D3D + TNT + GPL

Has anyone got the new D3D patch working well with a TNT card.  I installed
the patch and my framerate went down but the mirrors looked much better.  I
ran GPL with the same settings as with OpenGL (Sound quality = 0, Mirrors
every = 6, number of sounds heard = 4) but I could only get a constant 30fps
no matter what I changed in the Core ini file.  With OpenGL I was getting
36fps.

Incidentally when I ran GPL with earlier drivers from NVIDIA (3.68 I think)
I was getting 36fps with mirrors every = 1 and all the graphics options
turned on in D3D, but I got a really bad screen flicker/ clipping on all
objects.  The 5.22 drivers solved this but my framerate dropped.

Can anyone else who is using a TNT card with D3D send me their core ini
settings or something.

I have a PII 400MHz, 98Mb RAM, 10Gb hard drive, NVIDIA RIVA TNT, Creative
sound blaster audio PCI 64V sound card.

Many Thanks

David

The answer you are looking for is in the readme file

http://www.papy.com/downloads/readmeD3D.txt

you need to tweak your core.ini to the instructions given at the bottom
of the file if you have a TNT 1 card.

I installed the DX7 patch on an Athlon 800/GeForce DDR, and I couldn't
be happier.

I can finally _feel_ the car!

I have the res cranked all the way up to 1280 and all graphics options
turned on, and I'm still pulling 36/37 fps.

I'm happy :)
