seriously i was hoping gp4 would be good, but christ it barely works and has
the features of a 1995 game besides the graphics

GP4 cant handle dual axis???

Once I got my wheel setup to my liking GP4 is a lot of fun to drive, I can
catch slides, (which a lot of people say can't be done) hit my lines in a
realistic manner and have some good racing against the AI. I have never
driven an F1 car so I don't know which is closer to right as far as physics
go gp4 or f1 2002. Sure GC has made more compromise for playability's sake,
but why is the low speed grip seem so low in f1 2002? They both have areas
that should have been fixed by now. I much prefer the tracks in gp4 to f1
2002. The big difference for me was when I got the MSFF wheel working the
way I wanted it to. I had to use some unusual settings, but now I feel  as
good of control as any racing game I've used.

Seriously, GP4 works like a charm around here...

BTW, today I tried the "multiplayer" of GP4 (2 PCs on a LAN) and it
sucks hamsters through a garden hose. You can't even do a race with
practice and qualifying! WTF?

But the single player is great...

Get your CV in to Ferrari. I think they are looking for Schumi's
replacement.

But it has to be someone who races for fun - not for the winning...<g>

In one of my earlier posts I said I was an average driver at best. My point
hick, was that GP 4 is very driveable and fun to race when I got it setup
right.

Okay okay I perhaps trolled a little here ;)

You see, the "other" newsgroup where all us old NROS drivers used to go is
dead.  It's been almost 2 weeks and the guy hasn't put it back on yet.  I
*need* my fix of it.  :-||||||||

Ok sorry, GP4 is one of the worst software effort, *ever* by today's ***
standards ;)

GP4 is a godsend for sufferers of SRSA (second-rate sim ***ion). It
has all the features they crave:

1. No MP.

2. It's second-rate.

I used to think like that. I liked the look of GP3 and really wanted it
to work. But endless hours of suffering canned spins, and dumb AI
backmarkers punting me off the track reduced the fun factor for me.
That's when I decided to give GPL a try. Ok it may be horrendously
difficult to master, but at least I feel I have more control over the
car.

Okay, that's just nonsense without the "utter" , but I give in now, just
to prevent being called a GC ***kisser... ;)
