>> The tracks in the plus edition of Revs were:

>> Brand Hatch
>> Silverstone
>> Snetterton
>> Donington
>> Oulton Park
>> Nurburgring - not, I hasten to add, the mammoth GP circuit

Erm, Nurburgring was never in the original BBC version of Revs or 4Tracks, and
I'm pretty sure it wasn't on the C64 version either.

'Fraid not. At a guess, the Acorn F3 car was wrecked by Paul (?) Hunt before the
series got there :-)

Eh? The AI in Revs was pretty amazing, with each driver having their own
characteristic style. Admittedly they occasionally did some pretty stupid
moves, but that reflects reality in F3 :-)

Yep, there is one somewhere. Try asking in comp.emulators.cbm. There is also
a tape image of Revs on an FTP site somewhere. Personally, I have a BBC Master
which I keep purely to play Revs on (via steering wheel & pedals of course!)

No, 'cos unfortunately Revs is still the only UK-centric racing game there is.
Racing on *** foreign tracks is all well and good, but there's nothing quite
like racing round circuits that you spectate at...

Yup. The closest anyone has come to that was 'Saloon Cars' for the Acorn Archimedes
(I don't know whether it works on the RiscPC or not). I can't remember the name of
the series it models, but it involves Sierra Cossies, BMW M3s, and Vauxhall Astra GTis,
competing in the same race, but in 3 different classes (I don't think it's the old
BTCC, but it may be). Quite a good game, but _very_ difficult to control on
the mouse [must get around to trying the pedals/wheel on it some day...]

Hey, not everything changes... next year I'll be at college playing on GP2 when I should be studying for
'A' levels. Can't program though :-(

BTW Glenn... Oasis are gonna do a clean sweep at the Brits! ;-)

Erm, I beg to differ ! I am looking at my original copy of Revs Plus
for the C64 right now and I can assure you that it does have
Nurburgring on it.

This is down to opinion I suppose. Mine is that the computer cars in
Revs drove like they were on rails. Woe betide the human driver who
ventured an overtaking manoevre without being several car lengths in
front. Those computer cars took no prisoners :)

I played it on the good old Beeb too (wasting time at college playing
Revs and writing games when I should have been revising for 'A' levels
!!). I don't think there was much difference between the versions
other than the fact that the C64 had Nurburgring (honest !) and was
easier to hack.

Glenn,

Which college?  Your name is familiar...

Steve.
