cant connect via ip address in N3 any help?

Hi there.. recently i've been running n3 on a pc networked to my sygate
server.
                now when i go to join a race using the ip address it says
it's not enabled..
what do i have to change? Any help..do i have to open up some udp ports for
this game?

I got the not enabled message once when I forgot to check the TCP/IP
connection box on the opening Multiplayer screen.
