I have an absolutely killer Elkhart setup I derived from G. Najouks' page (I
think it was his). Anyway I can do 1:37 with it. Here's my driving strategy:
Turn 1: 4th gear, 130 apex, 140 exit
Turn 2: what turn 2?
3: 2nd gear, 100-105 apex if you nail it.
4: flat out
straight: maybe up to about 205
5: down to 1st, could use second. 60-65 mph apex
6: 2nd gear 68-70 apex if you nail it.
7: flat out
8: 2nd gear, 80 if perfect
Carousel: a perfect carousel (for me) is 135 (in 4th) and a 150 exit
11: flat out
Straight: again about 205
12: 2nd or 3rd gear; a perfect corner will be above 90
13: lift and coast in 4th; 140-145 exit
14: I always find myself oversteering here. 2nd or 3rd gear, maybe 90mph
Always remember to brake early and "guide" or coast the car through the turns.
(Man I love this track!!) ;-)
