Now hateboy shows his true face... ;)

MS made a couple of mistakes in all those years, but strange enough
loonies like you only see his mistakes... q.e.d.

Sorry, until a couple of days ago I was reading the F1 ng.
Your question sounded just like a question one of the MS hateboys
would ask, so I jumped the gun. I need to get out of the aquired
MS defense mode (not even close to a "fan" of MS), but that's what
this ng is doing to me.

You should read the whole thread then maybe your contributions wouldn't
be the shite they are.

I don't waste my time hating MS or arguing about who was more at fault
in any particular incident. I just enjoy watching that kind of close
racing.

I don't throw all my toys out of the pram because other people slag off
my hero either.

That's just what this guy always does. He grabs the wrong end of the
stick, smears it with shite, then tries to hand it back to you.

Apology accepted.
But you do bring up an interesting point.  I've never seen anyone penalized for
blocking.  At least, I don't *remember* seeing it.  Who was the last?

Also, you have to admit that certain drivers tend to get the benefit of the
doubt.  Doesn't matter what race series.  Same thing happens in other sports as
well.  A player like Cal Ripken, Jr. might get a  higher percent of judgement
calls than someone like John Rocker.  Doesn't make it right, and it might not
happen as often as people like to think, but it DOES happen...

Ha!  thanks Eldred for opening the door.  heheh
Did you know, rumour has it, that Cal Ripken's streak is tainted??  Yessir.
Apparently the gossip and I use that word because all I've heard about it is
gossip  :)  is this.

Baltimore, for whom Ripkin played, had a game rained out.  No big deal it
happens all the time.  But here is the reason.  Supposedly Ripkin was NOT at
the ballpark, supposedly he was at a hospital(or as our UK friends would
say..at hospital)  receiving medical attention after getting in a***fight
with Kevin Costner.(yes the actor)  Ripkin had returned home before a game
and found Costner in bed with Ripkin's wife.  The fight that followed didn't
seriously injure either participant, but did necessitate a trip to the
hospital( or as our UK viewers would say...a trip to hospital)
The Team owner, realizing that a huge future attendance payday would be
lost if the streak was broken, convinced the umps..($$??) to cancel the game
even tho the weather was barely foggy let alone downpouring.

There you have it...totally off topic and completely hi-jacking the
thread...what were you guys talking about anyhow????

I dunno, if I only made a few mistakes but they were "Adelaide 1994"
and "Jerez 1997" I'd hang my head in shame. =)

I don't think any racing series penalizes for blocking if the cars are
fighting for position.  In F1 blocking happens all the time and goes
hand in hand with pit strategy, since a lot of times teams will leave
their #2 driver out longer than the #1 driver in order to act as a
blocker.  I don't remember seeing a "block" strategy option in Grand
Prix Manager, tho. =)

Otherwise, in F1 you have to move over after the third blue flag if
you're not on the same lap.  Coulthard took advantage of this rule a
few years ago (Suzuka 99?  I forget) to hold up one of the Ferraris
for the full 3 flags.
