I just have to say that I have a T1 that is 5 years old and in that 5 years
the gas pedal sping was the only thing I had to replace. Now I'm a proud
owner of a T2 and I'm sure with a litte care and maintenance this one will
last just as long. My question though does a $1600 wheel actually make you
faster???

I can only offer a comparison of a TSW to a T2...

I recently "traded in" my T2 on a TSW, and I'm very happy with the
result.
My lap times on ICR2 are better on all tracks.  The pedals are vastly
better than those of the T2, and the wheel is considerably smoother.
I can drive a much straighter line with less effort than with the T2.

The model I have has shift levers behind the wheel (with adjustable
travel) which allow for VERY quick downshifts, and a more reliable feel
than the T2 (in spite of the fact that I had modified it by adding shift
buttons).

I can also say that the TSW is a great controller for N2, although the
only way I play it is with the TPTCC patch (a great piece of work,
that!).
I use the stick shifter when I play N2, by the way...and it works just
fine.

Sole drawback with the wheel is the lack of 4 buttons (have to use the
keyboard to reverse), and I haven't had the unit long enough to comment
on the reliability of the pots.  I can be damn sure that I'm never going
to break the unit, unless I drop a fridge on it.  It's built like a
rock.

This is found at: http://www.theuspits.com/tptcc.html

It's a total conversion...car bodies and handling included, to turn
it into touring car racing...and it's about as good as it gets!

Man I've got to get me one of those Swede covered steering wheels,
that sounds awesome! Root vegetables all over the wheel - cool. Or
wait, is that the Scandinavian variety?

Cheers!
John :)

Hi Neal,

The lack of buttons will be addressed in future, we're working on a way
to have as many programmable buttons as possible through two different
methods.

Right now if one orders the s/d switch, you can use the two buttons of
the second js as whatever you want, I use one for reverse :)

>> Hello Robert;
>>         Supposedly the ECCI does have better pots in their units. Over a year

>Hi,

>At one time the pots in our TSW did fail but now we have custom made

>the TSW also since the review that you mentioned came out.

>One thing that we're working on now is an all digital model of the TSW
>that will not use pots at all, we hope to release it in 1998.

Trev,

You modestly fail to mention the warranty on your  TSW.............

"Due to the minimal amount of failure of any parts of the TSW
we are extending our 1 year electronic parts warranty to lifetime, the
Thomas Enterprises TSW has a lifetime warranty on
all mechanical parts but now this includes the entire unit. This
warranty is retroactive so it doesnt matter when your unit was
purchased. We guarantee that our unit will last for as long as
you own it, or we will repair it at our cost. We will ask that you pay
shipping in both directions after 1 year of ownership".
