I just read a review of Formula One Grand Prix 2 in this
months issue of Edge magazine. It got 9/10. Basically, they
said it was a very nice game and that Geoff Crammond (the
author) could do no wrong. They liked the in-game sounds
(you hear a rumbling noise as you run over a rumble-strip,
and the engine pops and crackles on gear-shifts) as well
as the lighting effects on the graphics. Also, they made
mention of the wet-weather race (very nice). Interestingly,
they said that the graphics engine was one of the fastest
around, and that a bottom end Pentium would happily handle
VGA (I can't rember the exact details). This is a bit wierd;
it seems that all of the UK magazines say that GP2 has
some of the fastest graphics around, while some foreign
mags say that it's got a big graphics overhead (and that
you need a P-166 to shift the SVGA graphics around).
Anyway, the proof of the pudding's in the eating - that
is if the game ever arrives!!
