ICR car colors?

I read from somewhere (maybe it was in this group) that
you can get Newman-Haas car colors changed to the right ones.
How is this possible? I really hate that orange car of Mario
and I always mix Al jr. and Mansell up because their cars
look so similar.

Any help would be appreciated!

ICR car colors?

Hi,
My question is probably not very new for this newsgroup, but since
I just joined it, I need to ask it.

How does the frame rate of ICR compares with World Circuit. In
WC I could get a good 18 fps on my 486DX33 isa system (ATI VGA Wonder XL 24)
by turning the texture of but all details on. Can ICR provide the same
frame rate without texturing. ICR looks good, but I do consider a good
frame rate essential for driving that fast. I looked at the demo, it
ran fine but since it is a record, it does not give a good estimate of
the capacity of the game.

Thanks, and if it is a FAQ, and if the FAQ exists, tell me where
to find it.

Guy Lamouche.

I have roughly the same hardware - and I may be alone in this opinion, but
to me ICR is a curiosity that will soon go back on the shelf, while WC stays
on the disk.  ICR in a pack of cars requires most texturing and objects be
turned off, thus eliminating critical depth items.  Trying to race with that
configuration soon turns into pieces 'n parts flying everywhere.

I run both games on a 486/66 with an ATI Ultra Pro. 25fps in WC and room
to spare (60% processor occupancy), and ICR runs smooth with every bit of
graphics turned on and 28 cars on the track.  Some replay angles (esp.
Sky) over a city course cause the frames to slow, becaue it rotates a lot
of stuff on the screen with every turn.

With WC I noticed that the graphics card you own is key to the
performance: I have a 486/33DX accellerated IBM/PS2 on my desk, but due
to is crappy stock VGA, I can't get more than 8fps. A 386DX 40 with a
nice Speedstar Tseng 4000 board runs the same game in 18fps under same
conditions.

I'm glad I have access to a 486/66, since I love th graphics in ICR! It's
also more realistic in the "ballistics" and dynamics of the cars. Too bad
that that also requires a better driver ond not such a leadfoot like me.
