ROFLOL!!!
ROFLOL!!!
Hi All,
This is for the GP2 people out there saying that Microprose
did not say there was going to be Network support in GP2. I also had a
message from one of the Microprose fellows saying he could not
understand why I had said to this group before that Microprose had
said Network was going to be worked on and a patch made. Well I could
not find that message but NOW I have found it in my save box so here
it is in black and white and un-edited for all to see...

Shane ,
I apologize for the lack of response. I received your earlier
massages, but due
to the game being developed in the UK, I forward requests such as
yours to our
UK office for replies. Currently, we are working on an upgrade patch
for
network support, however, it will probably be a substantial amount of
time
before it is released. Due to the huge amount of information that
needs to be
transmitted across a LAN, we are trying to find the most streamlined
manner in
which to accomplish this.
I will archive your messages here in the U.S., and as soon as the
patch is
available, I will e-mail you, letting you know where it is available
for
download.
Regards,

Hi There,
I have asked about 3-4 times and have so far received know
answer to my
question. All I want to know is there going to be a network patch made
for Grand
Prix 2 as that is what i was lead to believe before the product was
released. I
was disapointed when the option was not there so all i want to know is
it going
to be implemented..

Just kidding, couldn't resist
/Jesper
Lets face it Shane they are full of shit.
It only takes a modem or null modem game to realize networking could never
be done.
In a serial game the P/O is always the same on both machines you could be
on an empty low graphic part of the track but your P/O is over 200% because
your apponent is going through the grandstands with 4 cars in front of him.
The more cars you add the worse it gets and 2 is bad enought.
To support Network the game would have to be completly redone. Microprose
would have known this when they sent you that mail, so IMO they are full of
shit.
Todd.
................Lots snipped.
Your not wrong Todd. I just had to post that E-Mail up as a lot of
people seemed to protecting Microprose (including me) under the
impression they were going to look after the customer..(Fools will
believe.) Well I hope that Microprose get what they deserve as to say
i am dissapointed is an understatement.
The bums...:-)
Had to use that harsh word as if I put what I really thought i would
be baned from this group for life.....:-)
