My e-mail from Microprose on GP2 - same reply

This was lucky  'cos I sent a scathing e-mail to them about the lack
of replies I was getting from Microprose in Chipping Sodbury, UK on
the subject.  When phoned, no-one knows and when sending e-mail I
never got a reply.

This obviously preformatted reply (which incidentally didn't answer
most of my questions did pose a few questions.

What is meant by Soundblaster support........
does this mean support for the 8-bit old Soundblaster.  Those of us
who own 16-bit or 32-bit + wavetable Soundblaster cards will feel hard
done by, as the sound quality is terrible.  Perhaps they'll support
the Soundblaster 16 hopefully, 'cos this is better quality.  It's a
shame they won't be supporting more soundcards.  Some of the recent
innovations in sound have been amazing and would be perfect for a
racing game.   There've seen some amazing uses of DSP (digital signal
processing) such as in C&C and some of the 3d surround sound stuff is
great too - perfect for telling when Schumacher is coming up behind
you on the inside at Stowe.

The bit about the game enhancements is interesting, wonder what the
extra crash stuff is about... was there anything in SRN about this I
don't remember.

Can't wait...........
Disappointing about  the mid to late Summer....... could be a stall
though.

re: the sound blasters.  Yes full support for the SB is included rights from
the old 8 bit through to the AWE-32.  What companies do now, is BUY SOUND
LIBRARIES from companies like MILES design etc, and just adapt the game for
those libraries.  So m/prose don't need to program the drivers themselves,
another company does it for them.  Glad to see that they will have GUS support
:)
