I saw something at a sim racing site that implied that there was a convertor
for using GPL tracks in N4.
Does anybody know anything about this?

Yep, the converter usually goes by the name of David Noonan......:-)

There will be one in due time though, but don't ask when

Most firewalls prevent downloading humans from the Net. Too much potential
for viruses <g>

Seems that I'm in luck then - I don't run any firewall-software at the
moment

What do you mean, "humans"???

...all right, never mind

With a GPL Rank of -2.53, Dave Noonan still qualifies as human. I believe
the transition from human to alien starts at around -30 and is complete in
the -50 range.

Rob (GPL Rank -7.73 and still well out of the alien category)

The Aliens of GPL and N4 are about to be publicly disclosed. ;)

Although the disclosure project is real and has been on major news networks
recently. It was on Canada AM this morning with a live interview. Fact or
Fiction? Guess we'll find out soon enough as they go to the US congress
under oath.

Thomas got caught in US slang I think.  A Brit named Dave Noonan has
created convertors in the past that allows N2/N3 to use GPl tracks and GPL
to use Nascar and indycar 2 tracks.  His last project was a slightly buggy
effort that allowed N3 to use GPL tracks.  A couple of the bigger tracks
would almost always crash in 3d, but the smaller ones worked well.
Zandvoort was missing from the original release of the GPL to N3 convertor,
but a recent update has made that track convertable from GPL to N3 as well.
Noonan's next project would most likley be a GPL to N4 convertor.  They have
at least one track drivable in N4 and that is Monacol.  the URL is:

the bandwidth, but I couldn't help it... :oD

WOW!! And WOW!!! Let us hope this converter will become reality!
I am ready to pay also for this converter! The money spent
to Dave's first converter was very well spent...

To the best of my knowledge, Dave is working on it, hard, but according
to him it's a ton of work, so although he's putting a lot of effort into
it, as well as some help from others, this project will take some time

At least we know it's "doable" now, David Noonan for president, or prime
minister in his case :-)
