I was just fooling around with SCGT today and a Porsche GT-1 hit me head on and
both of our cars actually flipped over.  Anyone else experience this?

I haven't but about the Porsche GT-1 flipping reminded me of the Road
Atlanta race just this past year when it got airborn by itself on a straight
and did a complete somersault and landed back on its wheels but was pretty
damaged and hit the wall eventually i believe.  Amazing how something with
that much downforce could turn into an airplane with just enough air under
its nose.  Anyone here going to be at the CART opener in Homestead other
than myself?

I've never got remotly close to flipping!  I've gotten my front end maybe a
foot off the ground, that's it.  I wanna flip and see what it's like on SCGT
though!

On the main straight, go the wrong way and hit an on coming Porsche GT-1 head
on after the start/finish line.

It's not so amazing when you consider the speed that Porsche was
travelling, and how reliant it is upon the aerodynamics to hold it to
the ground at those speeds. Get some air under it at those speeds,
with the light weight of those cars and  WHOOSH...........

At the Petit Lemans....no kidding!  I was standing about 50 yards or so away
when that happened.  Yannick Dalmas (w/a 2 lap lead) was drafting someone
closely over the crest on the back straight, lost his downforce, and went on a
BIG-TIME flyer.  A back 1& 1/4 flip, over 20 ft. high, at about 150mph.  YIKES!
Bet he wasn't counting on that.  And he walked away (no doubt to go change his
shorts).  Not much left of that gorgeous car, though.

As for SCGT, I haven't managed to flip, or even to crash the other cars more
than once or twice, even intentionally.  I've tried using them instead of
brakes, just to see what the AI would do, and they just shrug it off.  Bent MY
car, but they just cruise on.  Tough ***s.  A bit TOO tough.

I finally flipped and did I ever flip good!  I did about 5 flips in the Panoz
at night!  My headlights survived the crash somehow....  <g>  Hit some oncoming
traffic head on, did a end over end for about 2 flips and then barrel rolled
through the grass.  Anyone wanna see the replay?

Actually, that was me. I put my post above Adam's text (too lazy to
fix it up :-)

Nope, I can't recall that one...

How bout Geof Brabham's major shunt at Road Atlanta, before the put in the
chicane before the hump.  He rolled the Nissan GTP car in an itty bitty
ball.

John Morton didn't have any problem catching air and flipping at Lime Rock
also in the Nissan GTP. That shunt was responsible for the current track
reconfiguration...........Didn't here to much from John after that.

I tried this. I was wrecked of course although I never flippd. The strange
part was that the other car just carried on racing as though there was no
problem. Hmmm

WOW!  I just had a big ol' flip last night testing out that crash model again!
10 flips baby!  I hit head on with a car on the front stretch, flipped, and
landed on another car and started flipping hard again!  heheheheh

IIRC, Brabham also tumbled the Nissan big time on the front straight at
Road America during a testing session.
