Hello Twan,

You're just not a real one are you ? You're the first one in the
newsgroup who thinks GP2 sucks, and probably the only one on this
planet. Although I do like it when people have a mind of their own, I
don't think you're right here. For the benefit of it, let me explain a
few things:

- first of all, the game was made with the future in mind. That most of
us can't play the game in full glory, with SVGA graphips and 25 fps at
Monaco, is not something the program should be blamed for. I'm sure that
with you're machine, if you turn down the frame rates and turn of some
details, you'll be able to play the game pretty well even in SVGA.

- second, you should have known that is was the '94 season when you
bought the game. That information was just about everywhere !! But don't
be afraid: I'm sure we'll get updates in the future, or perhaps even
editors to make it any season we'd like. And another thing: running the
94 season doesn't mean a game is old ! It would have run smoothly on
your machine if it were !

- and third, about these bugs that you 'discovered', I haven't heard
anything about this and knowing Geoff Crammond and his team, it seems
very unlikely to me. I'm sure the only bug in this newsgroup is you, so
please don't bother telling people they shouldn't buy the game, because
of these few silly reasons you came up with !!!

To all of those real racing types out there I would like to say: Buy the
game, it got top scores everywhere by experienced game testers from all
over the world, so it's NOT absolute ***as this guy would want you to
believe. I'm buying the game today and will for sure find out that the
others where right and this guy was not!!

See Ya, Eddy

It runs real "sweet" on a P6.

Weird... I have a P133, Stealth 2Mb DRAM, Asus Mobo and 32Mb 60ns and
it runs as smooth as a something-running-very-smootly I guess.
It seems that, just like Quake you really need a fast FPU to make it
work. Or liv without some detail.

I'm sure EA sports will make a true simulation - remember all the
fanstastic physics and setup options of Need for Speed....

Then again, perhaps not....

Hello,

You American are lucky again!
Listin' to my advice : leave in in the store!!

It's is really nothing.

The graphics are slow (Stealth 64 & 32 Mb edo & IBM P150+).
It's is very old (the season 1994!).
I already saw a lot of smal bugs just after a few hours playing.

Are you sure that GP2 uses the FPU??

This guy should never had the mighty priviledge to have this game....
How can one say this... I still don't have the game.. and now I see
a guy telling not to buy it!!!  Are you from Papyrus??? Maybe you
are!!

GP2 is simply the best, and anyone who says other :
- Don't know how to drive... and is pissed with that...
- Don't have a real computer (maybe an old 386 :-) )
- It's an ***
- All of the above

I WANT GP2

Hi Eddy,

First of all you didn't say in this note that you've never seen or played
the game.
In a e-mail to me you said that you were going to buy it that afternoon.
Maybe you should have wait a moment with writing this note.

Well, when i compare it to other games i think that it must be possible to
have more detail and faster graphics. That's all

I've never seen that and after studying the box for half an hour the only
thing i see is that it's copyrighted in 1995.

Two examples : when my car is broke down and it has the got out from the
track with an hoisting crane everythinh goes well exept for mthe hoisting
crane. The forget to put the crane there! So my car is flying through the
sky (maybe that's also for the future?)

When i wan't KM/H in stead of M/H it only works untill 200 KM/h after that
i can race 295 M/H!!!!

I hoped for a more arcade like game and it seems to be a real simulation
game with more accent on reality than on playability.

read the message in this newsgroup from  Shane Metzger from 18-7-1996 on
GP2 US vs EURO versions.
It;s interesting.

Bye bye

Well maybe 'nothing' wasn't the right word from me. But in compare with the
very high expectations and the writings in the press it's very far under my
expectations.

And you better wait with your comment AFTER the have seen and played the
game.

;->

Have fun ....

Parente) said something kinda like:

Or maybe owns the game?

I don't have GP2 yet either, and it may be great;
but it is the height of stupidity for someone who hasn't played the
game to abuse the opinion of someone who does.

I don't think you're being 100% fair to EA. NFS' physics wasn't too
shabby,
although it was clearly an arcade racer for sure. The development team,
Pioneer (I think?) is unrelated to the guys who develop the EA sports
team,
who really have developed a reputation for realism and attention to
detail.

Although granted, they're not likely to ever attempt a non-team oriented
sport such as motorsports. Then again, think of what a cool pit crew
sim they could make! Chain four gamepads on, invite a few friends over,
and you can have the whole team at work! And if you can interface with
GP2... ;)
