There is an ongoing debate on the quality of CPR.  Thought I would give you
my experience.

I did a bunch of reading on sims (had never tried one) but love auto racing
and wanted a driving game that would be realistic.  At christmas I bought a
Dell PII 266 with all the goodies (surround, big screen etc) and asked santa
for a wheel and pedals. So.....there I was with this great machine and a TM
Nascar Pro wheel and pedals.  Went out and the only thing on the shelf was
MS CPR. Looked like it was serious about realism so I bought it.  Man I was
really e***d--it sounded great, the tracks looked realistic.  After 3
hours I hated it. It was so frustrating....I have good hand eye and
eventually I could turn good times but it wasn't fun because it was so
twitchy. and the AI cars were banging into me all the time...I got the
patch....marginal improvement.  Net net, I felt that I was not a sim guy and
was feeling guilty I had dumped a bunch on a wheel that was just sitting
there.  I have not turned it on since.  Last week I gave the sim thing
another chance and bought N2.....wow !!  I can't go to bed. I'm glued to
this thing.....its a gas.   And I've never been a Nascar fan....always indy
and F1.  I'll now watch Nascar races.

So, I'll have to say its likely I'll be using the CPR CD as a coaster.

If you like nascar, I suggest you give CART racing  a try.  It is by
Papyrus, the same people who made Nascar Racing.  Also, try Grand Prix 2 if
you can find it.  It is the best formula one simulator(until f1rs comes to
US.)

(edit)

Very well put.  Also, I concur with the suggestion that you should
check out GP2.

Definitely go out and buy CART Racing by Papyrus/Sierra (the
same company that put out N2). It should be about $30, and
it comes with a $10 rebate coupon, and a great strategy guide.
It's a few years old, but it's still a great one!!

Once you do that, you can forget about Nascar and you can
come back to being a real race fan... :-)
