Patch Levels for F1RS

Question, I have picked up the US Retail Version of F1RS, and have noticed
several posts referring to Patch 1.08 available on the European Site.  Any
idea if this is the current rev level of the US Version?  When I type "Ver"
I get a series of numbers which appear to indicate a patch level of 1.06,
which I didn't see referenced on the above web-site. Any thoughts on what I
would gain if indeed the 1.08 patch is applicable to the US version?

The 1.08 patch basically addressed some graphical problems with the
Voodoo2 chipset.  I think that 1.07 fixed some steering control issues.
If the US version is 1.06, go ahead and apply the patch at the European
site.  While some feel that 1.05 had the best frame rate, I am not sure
you can patch the current US version down to 1.05, has anyone tried?
