GP3 and Voodoo2 problem

by Greg Spar » Sat, 29 Jul 2000 04:00:00

I have Diamond Monster II Voodoo 2 running latest ref drivers from 3dfx.
PII 266 with 96mb ram and heaps of disc space. Yes yes I know - this is bare
minimum but I want to try it anyway!!
When i calibrate graphics it only runs through software rendering and when
go to graphics options screen the Voodoo 2 option is greyed out and not
selectable.
There is no cards.txt file written to the games root directory after
calibration as mentioned in the readme file.

Playing under software is a total WOT and I am sure if the game would
address the Voodoo 2 it would be OK albeit with lots of candy switched off.
Its the DRIVE I'm after anyway, not the pretty pictures :)

PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN...............

TIA

Greg

I have exactly the same problem
There is a file named 'qconfig.txt' instead but it does not help.

I think I have the answer for this. It seems to be caused by the fact that
the game isn't really made for 3D cards. So most of these will not work
properly if at all. i.e. a "feature".
