Stupid question time kids!  Why when I run Psygosis' Formula One, my
accelerator is either balls to the walls on or dead off?  Something
wrong with the program other than NOT being GP2 or what?  Lend a hand
PLEASE!!!

ALSO, Where can I find a demo of TOCA?  Never seen it and I'm really
interested in it.

Thanks in advance
Cheers,
Mike

It really doesn't have analog support. It was designed for gamepads.

I've only run the demo, but I had to change the default controller "digital
joystick" to "analog joystick", so that might be your problem too. The demo
was *terrible* I must say. I had to break a *little* for La Source and
Busstop, but otherwise Spa was almost flat out! I suppose there are options
to make it harder in the full game, otherwise it's a joke.

Yup, that's the wonder of digital throttles. ON or OFF. The analogue
throttle in TOCA is much nicer.

excuse me for asking, what is balls to the walls ?

What controller are you using with Psygosis F1?
I use MS sidewinder joystick and it is very controllable, even overpower
skidding when exiting a tight corner.
I gently nudge it when coming out of tight corners and the skidding stops.
( tail side step out ).

I had similar problems when I first started P/ F1, I was actually on the
verge of throwing it away when I decided to give it one last try.
Come to think of it , the same thing happened to me with GP2.

The best thing for  driving sims is wheel controller if you have the
budget.
Of course the cheapest alternative is for a modulated sensitive joystick
programme.
I wonder why no one has this type of programme?

Leong

Balls to the walls = pedal to the metal = flat out driving

TOCA is the most fanstastic Touring Car game thus far. It stands for
Touring Cars Constructor's Association or something like that. Anyway,
its published by CodeMasters and is available at Sim Lim.

There is a patch available (Adrenaline Vault, maybe?) that
enables analog throttle as well as analog steering.  Of course this
doesn't solve the other numerous problems that exist in this game.
Still the best track graphics, though.
