I was about to get F1RS from Ubisoft based on the recommendation of a
friend (and on GPL teaching me how much fun turning right can be, I'm a N2
head), but when I went to the stores to check prices, I saw 2 different
games.  I know which one he has but I was wondering which one is better, and
which one supports all the add ons I've seen on peoples homepages.  Or are
these the same and it's Nascar 2 from Papyrus, and Nascar aniversary edition
from Sierra Sports (Same basic game (with a little extra) just a different
name)

F1 by Ubisoft is the title your friend is referring to.  F1 by Psygnosis  is
not very good,   and I am sure many people in this newsgroup will agree with me
if I say stay away from it.
I hope this helps.

Cheers!!

F1RS (Formula One Racing Simulator) by Ubisoft is the one your
friend has and the one you should get. The other F1 is an arcade game,
not a serious simulator.

F1RS by Ubisoft is the title you should buy for a really detailed
simulation.  the "other" is an arcade game, and a bad arcade game compared
top the others on the market.  It's not just my opinion but by around 99.9%
of this newsgroup community also ;-)

Nascar 50th Anniversary from Papyrus is almost the same as the normal
Nascar2.  It just include the Grand National Expansion set in the title, so
for the same price get it over N2 !! more tracks !! ;-)

"
What a dissappointment. I had it on my hard drive for all of half an hour.
Nowadays I read the NGs more carefully.

I bought TOCA Touring car championship after reading about John Clellands
exploits with it in Autosport. That turned out to be a trashy arcade bash as
well

Thanks for all your help.  Everyone has been a great help.  Now if I could
get off of NROS long enough to go buy it I would be doing good.

Look forward to trying it.

Absolutely - don't touch F1'97 with a barge pole.

I agree about F1'97 being trashy. TOCA is not trashy - it may or may not be
arcade but the physics model is generally acknowledged to be good. F1'97 has few
fans - TOCA has very many - you may not like it and that's different.
