In Windows go to Control Panel/Multimedia/Audio/Performance and knock the
Hardware Acceleration down a couple of notches.
There is a site out their with a PCI128 soundpatch. I do not have the address
at this moment. However, If you have not gotten this patch yet.... post here
and I will email you the patch tomorrow.

Also... I received email from Cyril Montailler who said CL released a new
driver in April 99 that cures the problem with 8 bit sounds. Ill have to
give it a try myself and reload some of the new sound packs out there.
