In Windows go to Control Panel/Multimedia/Audio/Performance and knock the
Hardware Acceleration down a couple of notches.

This doesn't help, i know that there is a patch or something that
fixes the problem with this sound card. If anybody out there can
help that would be great because the sound is driving me nuts.
Thanks Again!

There is a site out their with a PCI128 soundpatch.  I do not have the address

Steve,

I heres the link.    http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Pit/6051

Also...  I received email from Cyril Montailler who said CL released a new
driver in April 99 that cures the problem with 8 bit sounds.   Ill have to
give it a try myself and reload some of the new sound packs out there.

It seems that CL solved the prob with the new drivers (april 99).
Work fine with my config. I tried the famous Patrick's sounds and it's
really great.

If it doesn't cure, the link with modified sounds is

It helped when I had a sb pci64. The only difference between
the 64 and 128 is the amount of 'midi' sounds for playing midi.
Otherwise both cards are exactly the same!

Go to http://support.soundblaster.com/files/newfiles.asp
and download this file:
e128up9x.exe
It helped me to get rid of distorted sounds, that was driving me mad,
especially in GPL.
