RASF1: ETCC Mod / NVIDIA Problem

by Haqsa » Mon, 29 Dec 2003 01:51:58

I just downloaded the 1.15 update for ETCC and now I have a texture
flickering problem.  Per the ETCC site:

"Unfortunately the Nvidia Detonator drivers version 52.xx are causing
rendering corruptions with F1C mods/addons when used with a GeForce 4 based
video card. The ETCC 2003 mod is not the only mod affected by this problem,
even if the F1C game itself will run fine with the Nvidia 52.xx drivers.
Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about this at the moment and so we
hope that the next driver update by nvidia will solve the issue. To run the
ETCC 2003 mod flawlessly you have to install the nvidia Detonator 45.xx
drivers for your operating system if you are using a GeForce 4 video card."

Anyone know of a better fix for this than reverting to old drivers?  I am
using the 53.03 drivers and still have the problem.  Unfortunately I need
the 53.03 drivers for some other games, I will not go back to an earlier
version.  So I guess I will not be in any RASF1 ETCC races until this is
resolved.  If anyone knows of a graphics tweak that will fix this please let
me know.
