Setup Problems for Nascar2

by Todd Allen Wi » Sun, 02 Feb 1997 04:00:00

A:  My setup page won't let me adjust the fuel capacity, hence I will never
have a pole qualifying with 22 gallons of fuel in my tank.  How do you
adjust?

B:  How do you adjust stagger?  I don't even see it on the setup page.

C:  Under default settings I have one setting for qualifying and another for
race but no matter what the car is set up to run what is indicated in the
settings box instead of the default settings.  What gives?

Thanks for any and all help.

You have to start each session with a full tank of fuel.  Sine the cars
have radial tires, you can't adjust stagger by varying the air
pressure.  Goodyear builds the stagger into their tires, and they are
the same for all teams at the tracks.

You don't.

You don't. There are no stagger adjustments in Nascar anymore.

What?

Just as the manual says...

 Hi Todd,

never have a pole qualifying with 22 gallons of fuel in my tank.  How do
you adjust? <<

See page 144 of the manual. In short you can only adjust fuel in testing
sessions.  Apparently this is in accord with Nascar rules.

<<

Can't see anything in the manual about it.  But if memory serves me, its
the tyre suppliers that create stagger in the tyre sets, though with the
advice of the teams as to how much for a given circuit.  I guess that
therefore the teams have little ability in real life to do anything about
it once they've got the tyres.

for
race but no matter what, the car is set up to run what is indicated in the
settings box instead of the default settings.  What gives? <<

Don't know !!  Anyone ??

I think that it DOES read from either the Qualifying and race setups.
Setuo and save  two extremely different setups and then put one in for
each.  Change to Qualify and run the qualifying lap and then go to
race and you'll see the diffference.  In actuality there are 3
different setups that you could have in there while getting ready to
race, as the Default setup is used for Practice and Warmups.

Hope it helps.

Setup Problems for Nascar2

Just finished reading my manual cover to cover tonight and it clearly
says that only in testing can you vary fuel load, qualifying and race
by Nascar rules must start with a full 22 gallons. also states that
the stagger diameter amounts are preset by the tire manufacturer prior
to each event. I also notice in there that per Nascar rules you can no
longer adjust the front air dam.

Hope this helps clear it up.
