I'm using the Guillemot ferrari FF wheel. Don't know about other people who
have the problem.

Hi Iain,
I was thinking of picking up a Guillemot Ferrari FF wheel... I know it has
hand paddels for shifting and I was just wondering if those paddels could be
setup to be used as hand analog gas\brake controls for those times when you
dont want to use the floor unit ?  If this is true, would those very complex
looking thumb buttons be able to be used for shifting ? (one of them looks
like a "hat switch").  If it cant be done with this wheel does anyone know
of a wheel where you can use the shifting paddles as analog gas\brake
controls ?  Believe it ot not an old Thrustmaster GP1 wheel is my
favorite..... but I would like to replace it with something that offers both
hand and foot throttle\brake control (and I want to avoid getting a
Thrustmaster Sprint wheel if I can).

Thanks for any help,
Lorne

See, that's what I find so silly and childish about your plonking.
While Mrv's message was quite silly and childish, most people here
would just ignore it.

Why the hell do you think there's a need to send another message
only containing the word "plonk"?

There are 2 sets of paddles on the back.... One is for shifters
(switched) and the other can be used as gas and brake (analog).  Just
unplug the pedals to get the analog paddles to be recognized.

See there Ronny?  A great example of his mature posts & well thought out
reasons for disliking this title.  <GG>

Thanks for the info :)   Just one question, if you use the analog hand
paddels for gas\brake how can
you use the (switched) shifter paddels that are also located on the back of
the wheel at the same time ? I would think that you would need to use the
thumb buttons to shift... but they dont look like
normal buttons, so I wonder if they can do the job.

Thanks for the help,
All the best,
Lorne

Yes, the switched paddles are available whether you use the pedals or
paddles for gas/brake.  There are also 2 small buttons on the front
along with one 4 position button and one POV button with 8 positions.
All together this could give you 16 buttons to play with.

Since there are 2 sets of paddels behind the wheel, yes you can use
both the analog gas/brake paddels and the shifting paddels to control
the car. One set is on-off (digital), the other is 0-100% (analog), and
are physically not related to each other.

I think you forgot the 'IMHO' in your last message as I am sure you didn't

This race results problem is also something I wish they had thought
through. Even as far back as GP2 we could save results, best laps, etc.
Definately a bad oversight to not have anything like that available here.

For you maybe.. but there are plenty of us that are fully enjoying the sim
having given it a decent chance.
