to 3 frames per second in 320x200 mode! Yahoo!! Managed to get a 1:39 at
Monza using the chase cam. Monaco is a real challenge too! Got around 1:45-50
a couple times, mostly 2:00 or so. Think VROC is going to have to wait!

Well, Todd, you certainly get the GPL Optimist Award for the month. With a
frame rate that low, it must be like driving with sunglasses, mittens and
lumberjack boots. Hope you're able to upgrade hardware soon. An amazing
world awaits.

Seriously, I am amazed that you are able to run it that good at all. Did
you turn all the graphics options to the minimum already? It shows that
the engine scales quite well, even on the slower machines.

Well, it was probably about 3 fps from the chase cam. :-)
P.S. Anybody want to buy a Pentium 60 Mhz screamer? Great for racing sims!

486SX25 ? That's a screamer too! I remember when my friend went from his
386/33 to a 486/50. It was the absolute hottest thing we'd ever seen. We were
playing racing games at an astonishing 12-15 fps !! We finally had "perfect
smoothness!"

What you really need to play GPL: CPU in 400-something range (Celerons work
quite well), 64MB RAM, and a Voodoo2. That's all you really need (that's
all I've got! =) but considering how cheap stuff is now I would get a Celery
in the 500-something range, a good mobo, good RAM, and o/c the ***out of
it!! (Best bet might be to look into the Celeries based off of the PIII
core...)
