Viper Racing: Yes or No?

I was thinking of picking up VR for some fun, especially because of the
graphics, physics, and career mode.  But I have heard here that the AI needs
some work, and various other nitpicks.  The demo ran fine on my machine, but
the system reqs aren't a concern of mine.

Should I buy, or should I not?

It would also help if anyone knows of any reviews on a wesbite.  Thanks!

The AI just adds a very good challenge, IMO everything is great about it.

I was just wondering is N99 is similar to VR, do they use the same physics,
graphics ect... ?

Yes indeed. Viper Racing is the most realistic sim I've played so far -
it's awesome. If Viper Racing and Need for Speed 3 could be combined,
I'd be in sim heaven :-)

Yes there are a few nitpicks but no major bugs or other problems.  A very
finished sim, especially from a company with no race sim products.  IMHO this is
the best race sim out today.  NO I'm not saying it is better than GPL(I didn't
have the machine to run GPL so I took it back), it's just one hell of a lot more
fun for me.  It's certainly better than GP2, ICR2, &  NASCAR but on the other
hand they are different type racing sims.
Yes the AI might seem to be a problem because at the lower level they run into
you quite often which makes you drive more defensively but this is very
realistic since you are in the amateur ranks.  As you progress up through the
skill levels the AI get progressively better and more aggressive.
One of the best things about this SIM is that everything you do to your
car(changing setup setting or upgrading components) is readily noticeable.  When
you make a minor change you can actually feel it.

Definately pick this one up. Since you have the demo, you know what you're
getting. The carreer mode in the retail version is a blast.  There is very
little wrong with this game and alot right about it.

Go for it John. It's GOLD man, GOLD!

GPL is probably platnum, BTW.  I will say that the physics model is
very close to GPL, and I believe as a whole, the AI is better. Damage
modeling is excellent. Very "clean" game, and one of the best
quality:price ratios that I have seen in a while.

Get it. It's a great game with good physics, good graphics, good AI and good
gameplay. One of the best sims of the year.

IMO it doesn't come close to gpl but it is great in it's own right. I got it
because it had a full price rebate sticker on it so it is free. There are some
parts that are super  and some parts that I don't like but it is a nice fun
addition to the sim garage.

Not at all. Even though both NR1999 and Viper Racing were released by Sierra
Sports, two different groups made the games. Papyrus did NASCAR Racing 1999
(which is mostly a major expansion pack for NASCAR 2), and a company called
MGI designed Viper. There is really nothing similar between the two games
except for the fact that they are both distributed by Sierra.

The AI is a bit agressive.  I just return the favor, and it seems to
balance things out :)
