The Pits, whats next???

Rubbish, I say!
Blasted time-wasting Flash graphics are a right pain in arse when all one
wants to do is read some news and download some good stuff.  Sure...it looks
pretty for the first visit but from then on it just becomes boring.

Jan.......please don't turn The Pits into another side-show.

I wouldn't worry too much Bruce, even though Jan is a fairly talented
web designer capable of totally drowning the contents of "The Pits" in
flashy stuff, he also has the good taste to know when to use it and when
not to use it

Surprising really, considering he's American, I've always perceived them
to be very into all this "flashy" stuff, and the worse it looks to rest
of the world, the better they think it looks, very bad taste these
Yanks...............:-)

Naw...Goy we take that as a compliment!  All Flash, all dash, thats
us!
All one has to do is look at those GAWDAWFUL French cars to see we
aren't
the worst designers in the world. :)

Hmmm...

France: Venturi, Alpine A610,Citroen DS/CX/XM/GS/..., sundry Bugattis (OK,
this
is pushing it a bit, but they were _built_ in France), ec,
etc, etc

USA: AMC Hornet, Gremlin, Pacer, Cadillac Seville, SUVs, etc, etc, etc

Bad choice of example there I think :-)

No pretty pretty flashy objects please! If I wanted a shiny
baubble, I'd visit an advertising site. I just want a nice,
attractive, clean interface to get to the important stuff - the
data.

Yeah, but you chose to drive a Dodge in the TPTCC Dave, that pretty much
disqualifies you from having an opinion about cars....

I see I'm going to have to ban the hover mowers from my league. due to aero
effect, they have a 3 km advantage over cylinder varieties owing to lesser
rolling resistance caused by the fan like properties of the blade <G>

Ok, frenchies built some descent sportscars in history, but look at the
nowadays renaults, they look like toys, the dashes look shildish. And that
upcoming avantime(!) call that a car??? who wants that? Citro?n Piccasso:
what an ugly nose. I would call it crashdesign. Over to Peugeot. Ok the 306
doesn't look bad but the 206, 407... also seem to have the blobby
crashdesign noses.

Goy, one only has to look at the squillions of square miles of chrome and
metallic-flake paintwork that came out of the USA in the 50s and 60s to
realise that your observation is just so TRUE!!

Oh....and the Edsel was simply the cherry on top of the sundae! :-)

Well, it's a pretty big bunker Bruce, so if you want to take with you a
couple of those vintage cars I believe you have, you're most welcome, we
could have a *few* beers and discuss the lightness of the different
Lotus models, and after another *few* beers we could discuss the BRM's
lack of the same as well :-)

Beers and cheers
